DEVLOG 3: ANXIETY

WEEKLY DEVLOG 3: I finished the game…..Both the alpha and Beta had several issues that took days on end to figure out what was wrong. I prioritized having the game start and finish as well as incorporating my own assets (which I made all from scratch may I add). I also unfortunately had to make some serious cuts! The game I was trying to make was way too ambitious for me to do in such a short amount of time.

Overall,  this game took years off my life. I can say this with 100% confidence, I will NEVER critique a game based on bugs or glitches it may have ever again! When making this game I realized I had to change everything to adjust to what was required for the class. This meant scrapping my games original program it was running on and having to start over half way through the semester with brand new software. If you ask a veteran game developer they would probably say that’s par for the course, however, ask a junior in this field. I truly didn’t know how much lack of sleep and anxiety of deadlines affects you. On top of that when the product that releases and it doesn’t play the way you intended that’s a different kind of hurt. Overall I'm glad I worked hard to finish something, however, I can’t say I look forward to the future with wide eyes.
